With a background in the nonprofit sector and over a decade of experience photographing weddings, I want more than good-looking images and designs, I want to do good — to support your experience, be sensitive to your vision, and help you recognize the great power and beauty of these irreplaceable moments.
Originally from Tennessee, Tara has a well-rounded network in multiple US cities, feeling at home wherever she goes. From the mountains of North Carolina to the colorful cobblestones of Charleston and the sun kissed beaches of Santa Barbara, she uses film and digital photography to document an array of weddings.
Before becoming a photographer, Tara worked at an ad agency and was an executive director for several nonprofits; one of which was filled with vulnerability and the goal to help children feel truly cared for. This showed Tara firsthand the value of listening and helped her appreciate the beauty of genuinely joyful moments. She saw these transformations at the nonprofit and strives to shape her work with this same warmth and understanding, to help her couples feel cared for and like there is always room for emotions.

n another life, I would have been on Broadway. I sing and play piano, and I used to teach dance. I’m married to my husband, Jason — my greatest support and second photographer. We have three kids, a German Shepherd named Maverick and a Black Lab named Duke.
