Let’s talk about engagement sessions. Engagement sessions are photography sessions between you and your partner that take place right after your engagement. These pictures can be used on your save the date cards, frames displayed on your wedding day, and your wedding website.
What to Bring During your Engagement Session
There are a few essential things to bring to your session. Two outfits: wear one and bring a secondary one, comfortable shoes, any props with your wedding date and of course your engagement ring. HERE is a previous blog post where I go more into depth about what you should bring for your session.
During the Engagement Session
During your engagement session, I capture you and your partner candidly laughing, posing, and just being YOU! Sessions typically last around 2 hours, and I love going to multiple locations within the vicinity of where we initially meet.
Reasons why I love Engagement Sessions
- I get to know you more as a couple. You can fill out my questionnaires, but interacting with you and talking face-to-face helps me get to know you better!
- It is a way to get comfortable with me as your photographer, to earn more of my trust.
- It is a way to get comfortable in front of the camera. Many of my couples don’t get their pictures more than once a year, and on your wedding day, you are going to have a whole day of pictures, so it is best to be comfortable around the camera
- The day of your engagement session can also be a trial run for your hair and makeup, so you will see how your wedding day looks and looks when photographed.
